Talend and Informatica – Let’s Get Real

Earlier this year there was a big data benchmark showdown between Talend and Informatica that seemed to wind down after Talend proposed a challenge to “…use a certified configuration agreeable to the both of us, a mutually agreed benchmark, and allow both companies to give technical guidance to the company running the benchmark. And let the best product win.”

According to InformationWeek, Informatica said they would evaluate it after the challenge was issued, “…based on whether it would serve the business needs of customers, and not solely for the sake of an experiment.” We couldn’t agree more.

Play time is over and it’s time to get real.

Let’s agree to a certified configuration, a mutually agreed benchmark for which all companies will provide technical guidance. Let’s give the market what they’re asking for – an answer to the performance question.
