Definition of the Week: DaaS

Redpoint Global | January 6, 2016

Data as a Service (DaaS) is the framework for providing data access on demand regardless of the user’s geographic location.

Sometimes referred to as “reusable enterprise data services,” DaaS can increase efficiencies and streamline costs by warehousing critical data in one location, making it easier to access and update for any number of users. DaaS is similar to Software as a Service (SaaS) in that the information is stored in the cloud and accessible on-demand by a comprehensive list of systems and devices.
